As of June 30, Hamilton Bike Share is back in operation.

Riders will once again have access to SoBi bikes across the City after overwhelming support to continue operations by the community following Council’s decision on May 27 to not support Councillor Nann’s motion to save the popular bike sharing system.

Reminder: Southbound Claremont Access Lanes to be closed starting July 6

At the June 3rd council meeting, councillors approved the construction tender to proceed with work on the Jay Keddy Trail and associated roadwork on the Claremont Access.

With that set in motion, work on the Claremont Access will begin on July 6, closing the southbound lanes until at least November.

City revokes operating licenses for two Residential Care Facilities

In 2017/2018 the City of Hamilton purchased the former Mountain Secondary School property (60 Caledon Avenue) from the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) with the intention of developing new mixed income housing on the Hamilton Mountain.

On May 20th, 2020 Hamilton City Council received an update on the sale and proposed redevelopment for the 2.84 ha (7.02 acre) property.
