Ward 8 spray pads, pools, and rec centre slated to re-open

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

With the City of Hamilton starting to slowly re-open many services around the area, City staff are set to re-open numerous spray pads, outdoor pools, and rec centres to bring joy to parents running out of entertainment options and relief from the heat wave we’ve been experiencing.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

With many of us being around the house more, we know that Max, Yogi, or Molly may be getting a little more love, affection, and attention as we all deal with the new realities of being at home.

Although our dogs may love the extra time together, it’s important to remember that some neighbours don’t enjoy stepping on Max’s leftovers in the park, something we’ve been hearing about at the Ward 8 office.

New Life for the Historic Balfour Estate

One of Hamilton’s oldest historical structures looks to finally have some new life (and investment) breathed into it as the picturesque Balfour Estate has potentially found a new tenant.

Pending approval by the Ontario Heritage Trust (OHT), Cardus will lease the property from the City after Council recently voted in favour of moving forward pending the OHT’s approval for “intensity of use” and “adaptive reuse” plans.
