The City of Hamilton is asking residents to voice their ideas on a Community Energy and Emissions Plan, a long-term plan to meet improve Hamilton’s energy efficiency and to reduce greenhouse gases.

As stated, the City is asking residents to provide input and share feedback on the Community Energy and Emissions Plan, a long-term plan to meet Hamilton’s future energy needs while improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Community Energy and Emissions Plan includes all aspects of energy use city-wide, from homes to transportation to industry to waste.

Residents are invited to review the project information online, submit their questions and provide feedback.

Community feedback is being gathered starting this week until Monday, February 15, 2021.

Residents can also participate in a Virtual Information Meeting online or by phone on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 7 to 8:30 pm where staff will provide an overview presentation of the Community Emissions and Energy Plan and answer questions.

The feedback gathered from the engagement survey and virtual information meeting will inform the creation of a draft plan that will be shared in the spring of 2021.
