Council approves updates for T. Melvile Bailey Park

This post, om August 6, has information on upgrades for T. Melville Bailey Park in the Southam neighbourhood.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

Hamilton City Council has approved nearly $69,000 for upgrades at T. Melville Bailey Park – Ward 8’s hidden gem.

For more details, please continue reading below…

A June 13 motion by Councillor Danko will see $69,000 of investment at T. Melville Bailey Park, a hidden gem tucked away in Southam neighbourhood located at 45 Cloverhill Rd.

The majority of the allocated funds, roughly $60,000, will be used to repave the alleyway connecting Brantdale Ave. and Arcade Cres. The pathway is in bad shape, and the resurfacing will provide safe access to the park for local families to enjoy.

After hearing interest from local residents regarding a community garden within the confines of T. Melville Bailey Park, $9,000 will be taken from the Ward 8 Special Capital Reinvestment Fund to install a water source for community members establishing the community garden.

There is no current timetable for the construction. The Ward 8 office will keep community members up to date on when the work is slated for completion.
