Butterflyway Hamilton will be hosting its first event this year, with locally native grown plants for sale to help raise funding for community polinator gardens across the community.

Wild pollinators such as butterflies and bees are crucial to human survival. Climate change, land development and pesticide use threaten their survival, and therefore ours as well. The Butterflyway Project helps people create viable pollinator habitat in neighbourhoods across Canada.
Butterflyway Hamilton is hosting their event this Sunday, June 23 between 1-4pm to raise funding for community pollinator gardens around Hamilton. At this event, you could take home a selection of locally grown native plants, with the suggested donation being the following: $4/perennial $5/shrub $5/tree. According to the event organizers, it is “pay what you can”.
