Free Tree Giveaway 2024: Mohawk College Pick-Up

This post, from May 21, has information on an upcoming tree giveaway taking place May 25th and June 1st at Mohawk College.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

The City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club have partnered together to host the 2024 Free Tree Giveaway for Hamilton residents.

For more details, please continue reading below…

This year the City, as well as the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club will be trialing a pre-registration system, as in previous years long lines were forming prior to the start time on pick-up days and tree species were available while quantities lasted.

This year, interested parties will select their pick up location and date, register for their tree species, and the tree of choice will be held until the individual parks and picks it up any time between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the pick-up day.

By planting a native tree on your property, you improve air quality, fight climate change and increase property value. Trees from the giveaway must be planted on private property, preferably at the side or back of one’s home.

There are two pick-up dates for the Mohawk College location:

  • Saturday May 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Saturday June 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
