Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,
Kennedy East Park, located on Malton Drive, will be under construction for the next two weeks as new asphalt pathways are to take shape at the southwest mountain park.
City staff have notified the Ward 8 office that the park pathways and spray pad area will be closed for asphalt path reconstruction from August 28th to September 8th weather permitting.
The asphalt reconstruction will be funded by the Ward 8 Area Rating, and was originally requested by Councillor Danko through a motion.
The construction will include all pathways through the park. If you live in the area or frequent the park, please be advised that there will be large vehicles and excavation equipment blocking the path, along with asphalt equipment. Local residents should also be advised that at certain points throughout the day the roads may be affected with truck traffic – and area residents may want to detour around the work zone.
During construction the playground will remain open, however may not be accessible from the pathways. The spray pad and swings will be closed from public use temporarily throughout construction.
