Mountain McDonald’s employee tests positive for COVID-19

McDonald’s Canada is advising residents through local media that one of its employees has tested positive for COVID-19 on September 5. The employee had worked the overnight shift on August 31 before falling ill.

The McDonald’s in question, located at Ryckman’s Corners (20 Rymal Rd. E.), closed its doors on September 5 for sanitization and is expected to re-open soon.

McDonald’s, through its release, offered the following:

“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party…..All crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.”

In a story the Ward 8 Office brought to you back in March, an employee at the same McDonald’s was charged with 4 offences, including mischief, after faking a doctor’s note claiming that they had COVID-19.
