Pedestrian lighting for T. Melville Bailey Park approved

This post, from April 12, has information on Council’s approval for new lighting at T. Melville Bailey Park.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

T. Melville Bailey Park, located in the Southam neighbourhood at 45 Cloverhill Road, will continue to see upgrades that started in 2022.

For more details, please continue reading below…

On April 5, the public works committee approved spending $60,000 to continue upgrades at the park which started in 2022. Council unanimously approved the spending on April 12. The $60,000 will go towards replacing the pedestrian lighting along the existing path through the park.

The lighting upgrade follows a motion from Councillor Danko in 2022 to spend $69,000 to repave the alleyway that connects Brantdale Avenue and Arcade Crescent to access the park, which is heavily utilized commuter route by area residents. The enhanced lighting will help improve pedestrian safety and visibility.

The funding will be taken from the Ward 8 Special Capital Re-Investment Reserve fund. Work should be completed in 2023.
