New Metrolinx documents which have recently come to light, have shed new information on the cancelled Hamilton LRT system.

“The provincial commitment to Hamilton’s LRT was $3.7 billion dollars”, Councillor Danko told CHCH News on January 7 during an interview.
Although it has been public knowledge for over a decade now that the provincial government promised $1 billion dollars towards Hamilton’s LRT strategy, these new documents indicate that Queen’s Park there was an additional $2.7 billions dollars budgeted for the long-term financing, operation and maintenance of Hamilton’s LRT system over a 30 year timespan.
