Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,
At the June 3rd council meeting, councillors approved the construction tender to proceed with work on the Jay Keddy Trail and associated roadwork on the Claremont Access.
With that set in motion, work on the Claremont Access will begin on July 6, closing the southbound lanes until at least November.
For more details, please continue reading below…
A few weeks ago, we brought you some background on the road resurfacing work and the construction of the multi-use Jay Keddy Trail, the latter of which would provide an invaluable link between the mountain and the lower-city.
The work involves roadway re-surfacing from Main Street East to Upper James Street including the West 5th access ramp as well as the construction of a multi-use trail.
Included in the trail construction is a concrete barrier wall and accesses at Brantdale Avenue, Southam Park, Arkledun Avenue, St. Joseph’s Drive, West Avenue South and Hunter Street East. The Claremont access southbound will be closed from Main Street to Upper James Street.
Below you can find copies of notices which will be going out to area residents this week. We will continue to share any and all information related to the ongoing project, including details about detour routes and supplemental information in the coming week.
