Students could use your support

This article from May 31 contains a message from the Industry Education Council of Hamilton about supporting high school co-op students.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

With COVID-19 shutting down schools and co-op programs, the Ward 8 office received a message from the Industry Education Council of Hamilton.

For more details, please continue reading below…

The following is from Cesare Di Donato, Executive Director of the Industry Education Council of Hamilton.

Dear Hamilton Employer,

High School students are experiencing a major disruption to their education due to COVID-19, as you are also dealing with new challenges for your business.

The IEC would like to help you and the students. If your business can use a ‘virtual worker’, please consider a virtual co-op student over the summer. This situation might also be the case semester 1 this Fall.

Our youth are in need of true experiential learning opportunities that will develop skills, knowledge and career understanding, while providing employers with a workforce asset.

The IEC will coordinate the logistics on your behalf with the school boards. Please let me know if you are interested. I can answer any questions or concerns before you actually commit.

Thank you kindly for your time, take care,

Cesare
