New Traffic Signals a Welcome Addition on Blossom Lane

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

You may have noticed recently along your travels on Upper James that the intersection at Blossom Lane/Chapman Avenue has been undergoing some modest changes to improve the safety of pedestrians and drivers alike.

We’re happy to report that the lights at Blossom Lane/Chapman Avenue and Upper James (south of the LINC) have been fully functional since January 15 and will hopefully add a sense of safety for the many residents in this growing area of our ward.

New Mixed-Use Development Approved for Upper James and Stone Church

Hello, Ward 8 Neighbours!

On September 17th, 2019 the Planning Committee of Hamilton City Council approved a zoning by-law amendment by Riccio Developments that will permit the construction of two four storey multiple dwellings and an eight storey mixed-use building (commercial main floor, residential upper floors).

This will result in a maximum total of 358 new residential units, 477 parking spaces and new ground floor commercial/retail space at the southeast corner of Upper James and Stone Church.
