Traffic impact at Rymal Road and Upper Wellington

There will be some impacts to residents in the Rymal Road and Upper Wellington area as work begins to safely complete sewer by-pass installation.

A series of intermittent interruptions and lane restrictions will take place at the intersection of Rymal Road East and Upper Wellington Street and surrounding areas beginning on Monday, July 19, 2021 in order to complete sewer by-pass installation.   

Dates for the work are weather permitting. Details including road closure limits and timing can be found at hamilton.ca/roadclosures.

The majority of the work is expected to wrap up on or before July 22, 2021. The center turning lane and bike lanes on Upper Wellington Street between Rymal Road East and Dicenzo Drive will remain closed until October, 2021 while work is completed.

Details on the traffic, noise and dust impacts has been shared with residents in the area.

Motorists and cyclists should follow signs for detour where posted and may experience minor delays. 

Passengers on HSR route 26 Upper Wellington and 44 Rymal may experience minor delays. Details are available at: www.hamilton.ca/hsrdetours
