It’s Circular Economy Month!

This post, from October 11, has information on an upcoming open house hosted by Waste Management staff.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

The month of October is Circular Economy Month across Canada, and with next week recognized was Waste Reduction Week, the City will be hosting an open house at the City’s central composting and recycling facility.

For more details, please continue reading below…

As mentioned, the week of October 15th to 22nd is recognized as Waste Reduction Week across the country. To celebrate the week and educate residents on the importance of waste reduction, Waste Management Division staff have planned several initiatives including hosting an open house.

Staff will be offering tours for residents of the City’s Material Recycling Facility & Central Composting Facility, with the open house taking place on October 21st from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon at the facilities located at 1579 Burlington St E.

For those interested, you can register for a tour by visiting www.hamilton.ca/wasteeducation.

Educating residents about waste is a key factor in having a successful waste management program in Hamilton, which in turn protects the environment and our community. We hope many in Ward 8 will take advantage of the tours and hope you participate in Waste Reduction Week.
