Keeping your bike safe is a little easier now in Ward 8, with the installation of Hammer Hoops bike parking.

The “Hammer Hoops” style of bike parking allows for 2 parking spots per unit. The design represents the “H” found in the city of Hamilton’s logo.
The hoops can currently be seen throughout the city, predominantly in front of many local businesses as well as in areas that have an increased demand.
Ward 8, for its part, has seen a need in many areas but especially along the Upper James corridor and sections of Upper Wellington where many of Ward 8’s large and small businesses can be found.
As identified in 2022, these are currently the areas where a “Hammer Hoop” can now be found for bike parking:
- 601 Upper James St
- 592 Upper James St – Plaza x 1
- 661 Upper James St – Mall x 3
- 770 Upper James St – No Frills x 2
- 830 Upper James St – TD Bank x 2
- 777 Upper James St – Canadian Tire x 1
- 171 Mohawk Rd – Plaza x 1
- 622 Upper Wellington St – Seven Eleven x 2
- 542 Upper Wellington St – Em Oi Restaurant x 1
