Hamilton Remembers

This article, from May 20, has details on the Covid Virtual Memorial, launched by the City this past week to remember those lost during the pandemic.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

Hamilton Remembers, a COVID-19 virtual memorial, will allow families to remember and pay tribute to loved ones lost during the pandemic.

For more details, please continue reading below…

The City of Hamilton has launched an online presence to memorialize Hamilton residents who have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The Hamilton Remembers: COVID-19 virtual memorial allows family members of those who have passed away from COVID-19 to submit a brief message and photo to pay tribute to their loved one.

The message and photo will be posted on the City’s website at www.hamilton.ca/covid-virtual-memorial.

Over 300 community members have died as a result of COVID-19, and the online memorial provides an opportunity to honour and celebrate the lives of those we have lost.

How to participate

Families who have lost a loved one to COVID-19 can submit their message and photo online at www.hamilton.ca/submit-memorial. City staff are managing the memorial, reviewing and publishing submissions as they are received.

An awareness campaign about the online memorial will run throughout the next few months to gather submissions.
