Whether you’re a tenant, landlord or a curious mind, join Councillor John-Paul Danko as he hosts an information session on what rental licensing is, how it will work and timelines for its implementation.

The information session, scheduled for November 30 from 7pm-8pm, will contain an introduction on the by-law by Councillor Danko followed by a presentation by representative from Hamilton’s By-law services on rental licensing. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions of the presenters.
The presentation on November 30 will include the following:
- What is rental licensing?
- What properties will need to be licensed.
- How properties are identified.
- What licensing will cover (ie. fire code, electrical code, building code, room size, etc).
- The timeline for its implementation.
- Enforcement.
- Tenant protection.
The Ward 8 office will be recording the presentation for those unable to attend.
