Neighbours add pollinators to Richwill Park landscape

This post, from July 12th, has information on new pollinator gardens at Richwill Park.

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

Neighbours in the Bonnington area assembled this past weekend to plant some more pollinator patches at Richwill Park.

For more details, please continue reading below…

The Bonnington Betterment Community, a community-led effort to adopt Richwill Park in 2021, spent this past weekend sprucing up the park, in addition to planting various pollinator gardens in the park space.

According to the Bonnington Betterment Community, planting was done on Sunday. The City’s Parks Department (special shout out to Bryan) helped facilitate the raised beds and triple mix utilized by the group. They are also expecting new benches for neighbours to sit and gather and enjoy the new views.

Harpers Garden Centre also helped the BBC with a mulch donation, while the Butterfly Way Volunteers planned out the layout and installation of the news beds.

The biggest need for the group right now, especially from local neighbours, would be to help provide water (from a backyard near the park for instance).

If you’re interested in participating at Richwill Park, or have a source of water for the group to utilize, please contact Emily via .
