Ward 8 spray pads, pools, and rec centre slated to re-open

Hello Ward 8 Neighbours,

With the City of Hamilton starting to slowly re-open many services around the area, City staff are set to re-open numerous spray pads, outdoor pools, and rec centres to bring joy to parents running out of entertainment options and relief from the heat wave we’ve been experiencing.

For more details, please continue reading below…

Ward 8 is home to 7 spray pads, a cool place to seek relief from the soaring summer temperatures. All of the typical COVID-19 precautions remain in place while using spray pads. Users of spray pads should:

  • Keep two metres of physical distance between yourself and others who aren’t in your “social circle”.
  • Don’t gather in large crowds or groups.
  • Wash your hands: Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and warm water as soon as possible.
  • Don’t use spray pads if you are sick or showing signs of being sick.

Most spray pads have been turned on since June 19. Due to construction, the spray pad at William Connell Park will remain closed until further notice.

The map below indicates where Ward 8 spray pads are located. Spray pads are fully accessible and free to use.
