Wheelchair accessible swing installed at William Connell Park

Following the success and popularity of Hamilton’s first accessible swing at Gage Park, the City of Hamilton has recently installed its newest swing in Ward 8’s William Connell Park.

The wheelchair accessible swing is roughly 60 x 72 inches, and is designed to let children of all abilities play .

There are handlebars that assist with moving the swing, while keeping users in place. The structure is available with one accessible bay and one bench seat, or two accessible bays.

As of Monday, April 22nd, the swing was fully operational and ready to enjoy by the community.

William Connell Park is situated along West 5th Street, between Stone Church Road West and Rymal Road West.
